Plant Operator / Field Technician
Based in Wallingford (Oxford)
Salary: Entry level £19-23k, p.a. plus bonuses, but negotiable DOE
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading specialist company in seismic investigation and engineering geophysics. We have been successful in expanding our ground investigation business, attracting high-profile clients in the UK and overseas.
We require a Plant/Vibroseis Operator/Field Technician, who has achieved HND (or similar) level qualifications in vehicle and hydraulic systems maintenance. Workload will be varied and challenging and will offer significant opportunity for UK and overseas travel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance and on site operation of vibroseis vehicles used in seismic reflection ground surveys. This will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic maintenance as well as servicing, troubleshooting and repair.
Working in a dynamic team of geophysicists and engineers you will be encouraged to gain experience in other geophysical, geotechnical and non-destructive forms of ground investigation.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience with seismic machinery, although experience with other heavy duty site plant will be considered. We require someone who is comfortable with long periods away from home, keen to travel, and won't mind working evenings/weekend shifts in often challenging weather and site conditions. The candidate must be hardworking and diligent. Passport and clean driving licence are essential, additional driving qualifications such as plant or heavy vehicle and trailer licences would be beneficial.
