Industrial floors

Concrete floors are literally the platform upon which many logistics and industrial businesses rely, and performance of the floor is crucial to performance of the business.

Fugro Aperio has considerable expertise in the investigation of ground bearing and suspended concrete floors using non destructive methods to provide a comprehensive picture of floor structure and condition. Using techniques such as ground penetrating radar we can cover large areas rapidly and with minimal disruption to users to determine floor and foundation arrangement, concrete thickness, reinforcement and joint detail, and can report on defects such as voids, delamination or cracks within or below the slab. Where suspended floors are concerned, we can determine the form of floor construction and have developed sophisticated methods for specialist applications such as investigating voids in post tensioned ducts using low frequency ultrasonics and impact echo.

Ground Penetrating Radar surveys can cover 4000 linear metres of floor in a day, providing a far better understanding of the structure than reliance on core samples or records

Our team is highly experienced in dealing with concrete floor issues and have been involved at various project stages including quality control, dispute resolution, forensic investigation of building failure, change of use and due diligence associated with change of ownership.
