Geophysical Investigation of hidden shafts above 50 tunnels Geophysical surveys of 50 tunnels throughout Network Rail Western Territory to map hidden construction shafts from a combination of GPR surveys within the tunnel and other geophysical surveys from above the tunnel. The client integrated geophysics with desk study, visual survey and other resources across the network. For Donaldson Associates / Network Rail.
Perridge Tunnel, Devon GPR and visual survey of disused masonry tunnel to determine possible reasons for collapse, condition of brickwork lining, locate unrecorded access shafts and map voids above lining. Work was followed by a second phase of topographical surveying and geophysical investigation from the surface. For May Gurney.
London Underground Infraco SSL District Line Tunnels Investigation of masonry railway tunnel sites on District Line and East London Line to map moisture related defects and voiding within and behind lining using radar, thermography and ground conductivity. For Infraco SSL through their term contractors Wiggins Gee, McNicholas and Clancy Docwra.
Snow Hill Thameslink Tunnel, London GPR and drilling survey to determine thickness of brickwork abutments and investigate arrangement of embedded steel beams. For Atkins.
Wenvoe Tunnel, South Wales Investigation of disused masonry tunnel using radar to determine the thickness and general arrangement of the lining and to map voids. For Construction Marine / Rail Properties Limited.
Timber Lined Tunnels, London Five year contract with a total fee value in excess of £4m to survey shallow communications tunnels in urban areas. Radar mapping of voids in concrete above tunnels in order to guide future treatment.
Tiviotdale Tunnel, Stockport GPR survey of disused masonry tunnel lining to determine condition of lining, map voids above lining and locate unrecorded access shafts. For Jacobs Engineering / Rail Properties.
North West England Hidden Shafts Survey Combined investigation involving reconnaissance level GPR surveys to map possible hidden construction shafts in 10 tunnels in North-West England and North Wales, followed by verification surveys using ground resistivity and drilling. For Edmund Nuttall / Network Rail.
London Underground, District Line Tunnels 41 and 44 GPR survey of masonry tunnel linings to map delamination, voids and moisture. For Onsite Rail and Civils.

London Underground Tunnels at Victoria, St James & Stepney GPR survey of masonry tunnel linings to map delamination, voids and moisture. For Onsite Rail & Civils.
Tyne Tunnel and Tyne Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne Condition survey of concrete decks to map concrete defects hidden by asphalt surfacing. The surveys used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to map delamination caused by expansive corrosion of reinforcement in the upper part of the concrete slab. Initial results were calibrated by trial holes and report drawings sent out with tender documents to contractors bidding for repair contract. For Newcastle Upon Tyne City Services
A38 Saltash Tunnel, Cornwall Modern concrete road tunnel Investigation of concrete tunnel lining to determine construction thickness and location of steel arch ribs and ground anchors in order to determine relationship with cracks and moisture ingress. For Cornwall CC
