Surface Water Drainage

Effective management of surface water drainage systems has been identified as the number one weapon in the fight against urban flooding. Fugro Aperio specialists can help local authorities and utilities companies better understand the nature and condition of their drainage networks.

Capabilities include inventory surveys to locate and record the position of assets such as gullies, storm drains and buried pipes, enabling clients to maintain and manage their networks more effectively. Condition surveys of drains and culverts include 'conventional' video inspection as well as non-destructive, subsurface investigation using unique radar technology to detect voids behind the lining of a pipe or culvert.

Combined with topographic data in GIS format this can pinpoint high risk areas and enable targeted cost-effective intervention.

For best results a combination of techniques should be used.
